Menstrual Products Right to Know Act

Wow, I learned that the average woman uses 16,000 tampons over time, and that no federal
law requires makers to disclose the ingredients in them. Protecting the right to know is
important for all women in our lives.
Learn more about this! #comeclean #generationgood

Unbelievably, no federal law exists which requires disclosure of ingredients in tampons and pads. This means women are left in the dark about what ingredients they are putting on some of the most sensitive and absorptive tissue on their body.

There have been some efforts to make this a requirement, but none have succeeded yet.  Most recently, Representative Grace Meng introduced the Menstrual Products Right to Know Act. Just last year, Seventh Generation, Womens Voices for the Earth, and Rep. Meng went to Capitol Hill to raise awareness among legislators and rally for this bill.  We need to continue to push for this in 2018.

Generation Good is also asking all Generation Good members for their help in raising awareness of this issue by raising their voice too!  Share the information in your sharing tools to help inform and empower the women you know to stand up for their right to know what is in the products they use.
